Depression is REAL but suicide is NOT an option.

Image
I read about the man that committed suicide on third mainland bridge today and I've been sad. He allegedly asked his driver to park on the Bridge, the driver did as he was told and the man jumped. It's really sad. What could he have been going through? What happened before that time? What was going on with him? What's going on in his family? How long has he been trying to be fine? Did he try to talk to anyone? Or did he try to man it up as society expects men to? This is really sad.

Eat Good: How To Make Afang Soup

Image
Yaay, I'm starting the "Eat Good" series with my favorite soup. Afang soup ! I'm in love with this soup. This was my first meal in Nysc orientation camp. After struggling with registration, I ended my day with Afang soup. I had it almost every week when I was serving in Uyo. That's how much I love it.

STOP THE SOOT

Image
There is an environmental hazard currently building up in Rivers state, Nigeria. There are black particles everywhere. Residents first noticed this SOOT in November 2016.  This is a toxic black particle, composed of carbon, produced by incomplete combustion of coal, oil, wood, or other fuels. Soot can consist of acids, chemicals, metals, soils, and dust. They are extremely tiny and can travel deep into the lung. This can cause serious damage.

Igbokwe, Gift and Ekemini

Image
Story story! Igbokwe was a hardworking man, he had five wives, Adaku, Adaobi, Ifunanya, Ebube and Eberechi. They had many children and lived happily together. Igbokwe had two colleagues, Gift and Ekemini. They had their own wives, Ibinabo, Tambari, Idongesit, Aniete, etc. and children. One day their boss at the office said everyone should move in with Igbokwe and his family. They needed  to renovate the other part of the company's apartment.

Rivers people are not Igbos!

Image
Okay! This article was triggered by Tweets I saw a few days ago insisting  Rivers state peoople are Igbos/ Biafra ns . Recently, there was a protest by members of IPOB (Indigenous People Of Biafra) in Port Harcourt. This is not the first time this will be happening. Once again, like I said in my other post - I AM IJAW - http://tariahh.blogspot.com.ng/2016/06/i-am-ijaw_30.html I do not have any problem with the Igbos or IPOB, neither do I have a problem with where citizens decide to exercise their right to peaceful assembly and for whatever reason but I have a problem with people assuming/insisting that the people of Rivers state are Igbos/Biafrans.  A lady on Twitter asked “What’s Port Harcourt’s business with Biafra?” and a young man responded proudly “Fam! You don’t know Rivers state people are more or less Igbo and only changed their dialect and names after the war??? Maaaaaannnnn!” LOL.
